Marty Parker was born in Bellingham, Washington and grew up in the Sacramento suburb of Citrus Heights, CA. He studied art with Wulf H. Meyer and Ron Paulat at Mesa Verde High School, and both instructors remained lifelong mentors and friends. Marty earned his AA in Fine Arts at American River College studying with acclaimed artist Gary Pruner. He also attended Cal State Long Beach where he majored in Theatre Arts. Marty exhibited his Circle Series Drawings at the Martin Luther King, Jr., Annual Fundraising Event in January 2012 at the Sacramento Convention Center. He also was part of The Art of Baseball show in April 2012 at The George Krevsky Gallery in San Francisco. Most recently, Marty's drawings were on display at the Citrus Heights Chamber of Commerce from November 2013 through February 2014.
Marty loves in include a wide range of subjects, including American Pop Culture, Sports, Rock and Roll (with a focus on The Beatles, Pin-Up Art, and Hollywood Icons.
Although most of the art featured on this site is from Marty's more recent drawing series, he also paints in oils and acrylics.
